"Dare Me" is a 1985 song originally recorded by The Pointer Sisters on the RCA label. The song was the first release from the Pointers' platinum-selling Contact and became a worldwide hit. In the US, it narrowly missed the top ten of the U.S. charts, peaking at number eleven, number six on the soul singles chart and was number one, for one week, on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs. Overseas, "Dare Me" was also a top twenty of the U.K. singles chart, peaking at number seventeen, and the top ten in several other countries. The song was led by youngest sister June and was the group's only number one hit on the U.S. dance singles chart. It was written by songwriters Sam Lorber ("No One Else on Earth" for Wynonna) and Dave Innis (keyboardist of the group Restless Heart) in Nashville in 1984. Dave Armstrong's song "Make Your Move", samples this track. The song was covered by The Chipettes in "Quarterback in Curlers," an episode of Alvin and the Chipmunks. Read more on Last.fm.
